biography
Mr. O’Keefe heads the firm’s corporate and securities practice. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and corporate financing transactions in which he regularly represents both issuers and investors. His clients include venture capital funds, mezzanine debt funds, private equity and hedge funds, securities brokerages, investment banks and numerous high net worth families. Mr. O’Keefe regularly acts as outside general counsel to dynamic companies in a broad range of industries, including software, technology, communications, healthcare and investment banking. Mr. O’Keefe also regularly advises companies on how to protect their intellectual property rights and maximize their value.
Mr. O'Keefe is also a founder of the Miami Innovation Fund, which encourages South Florida entrepreneurship through mentorship as well as seed and pre-seed funding.
Prior to joining CRGO, Mr. O’Keefe was the general counsel of a privately held company that was sold to a hedge fund in 2006. Mr. O’Keefe previously practiced law at private law firms including Akerman Senterfitt and Morgan Lewis and Bockius. Prior to law school, Mr. O’Keefe worked for the investment banking firm Alex Brown & Sons.
