biography
Mr. Gonya is a seasoned commercial trial lawyer with extensive experience in all
aspects of trial practice in federal, state and appellate courts, as well as
arbitration proceedings. His broad-based litigation practice includes employment
litigation, complex commercial litigation, real estate, construction and condominium
litigation, banking litigation and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Gonya focuses
on all aspects of labor and employment counseling on behalf of management/employers
and related litigation, such as FLSA, including overtime, tip credit and minimum wage
violation claims, Department of Labor audit compliance and investigations, Title VII
claims, including sexual harassment claims, and other statutory and common law claims,
including FMLA, ADA, ADEA and Whistleblower Act.
Mr. Gonya also enforces and defends non-compete, non-solicitation and non-disclosure
agreements and litigation cases involving misappropriation of trade secrets.
Prior to joining CRGO, Mr. Gonya was a partner with Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod
LLP in Miami, Florida and a shareholder with Fowler White Burnett, P.A. in Miami, Florida.
